Details

Gijsbert first came to China in 1998 after having worked as an investment banker for a large bank in the Netherlands. Shortly after his arrival in China he established the CHC Group together with Nic Pannekeet. Gijsbert’s experience in new business development, B2B sales and product development has benefited many companies entering the Chinese market and Chinese companies venturing abroad. Gijsbert is a popular guest speaker at conferences on doing business in China, speaks fluent Mandarin Chinese and divides his time between China and the Netherlands.

Details

Nic Pannekeet first arrived in China in 1994 to study Mandarin Chinese. Shortly after his studies Nic established the CHC Group in Shanghai. Nic possesses strong expertise in agriculture, distribution, B2B sales and business development in China. His in-depth industry knowledge and experience has benefited multiple MNCs selling in China over the past 15 years. Nic is nowadays mainly involved in the company’s corporate strategy and is continually investing and working on new ventures to contribute to CHC Group’s long-term goals. Nic is fluent in spoken and written Mandarin Chinese and resides with his family in Shanghai.

Details

After having worked with KMPG for 7 years in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, serving various large multinational clients, Job continued his professional career with KMPG in China for 5 more years before joining the CHC Group as CFO. His areas of expertise lay in the development of business strategies, (O)FDI, tax and company structures and assisting Chinese businesses in their internationalisation. Job is also a moderator and speaker at various events, workshops and conferences in China and the Netherlands.


History

1998 Two Dutchmen Gijsbert de Bruin and Nic Pannekeet create two companies in Shanghai, China: CHC Agriculture and CHC Product Development.
2000 Two years after CHC Product Development was created, the company opens its first European office to support its clients and increase the company’s international business development efforts.
2002 The CHC Group is incorporated to create more synergy between the existing companies and their activities.
2006 A new company, CHC Expo, is set up to host industry-specific trade fairs in China, starting with the water technology trade fair Aquatech in Shanghai.
2007 CHC Agriculture develops a Joint Venture together with Van den Berg Roses in Yunnan, China.
2008 CHC Agriculture completes the construction of its first highly advanced greenhouses in China.
2012 CHC invests in the international food supplements company BIC Group to quickly grow its international operations.
2012 CHC Agriculture becomes the largest flower producing company of China.
2013 Launch Factory 88 is set up to support foreign industrial companies with their sales, distribution and manufacturing in China.
2013 BIC develops a joint-venture with Jindan, the largest producer of lactic acid in Asia.
2014 CHC Expo’s Aquatech Shanghai becomes the largest water industry tradeshow worldwide.
2014 CHC Group establishes the joint venture SK Electric together with China’s largest power supply manufacturer in order to target the international market.
2014 CHC Agriculture & VDB Roses win the Cathay Pacific Business Award for their accomplishments in China.
2015 CHC Agriculture signs a new lease with the Yunnan government with the goal of tripling the company’s size in five years whilst using residual energy from nearby factories to power its operations and protect the environment.
